Navigating through this pandemic can cause confusion and patients need resources to guide them, providing hope during this health crisis. It is up to us, as chiropractors, to have the most up-to-date information as it relates to the current trends, federal and state regulations, and scientific resources. These lectures will explain what we currently know about practicing in the post-COVID world includingthe latest information on lifestyle risk factors, support of immune defenses, the effect on mental health,as well as a review of the current literature and case presentation examples.

Module 1: Public Health and Chiropractic: Understanding and Coping with the Coronavirus(COVID19)

Information about COVID 19 fluctuates day to day. The public is confused and needs a trusting resource to guide them, give them resources and hope. Often our patients turn to us for answers. It is up to us, as primary healthcare facilitators, to be up-to-date informed as to the current trends, federal and state regulations and resources. This lecture will explain the definition of the COVID-19 virus, the symptoms and precautions. We will also discuss how to have a safe environment to continue much needed chiropractic care and counsel. As a valued member of our community, it is also important to network with local and state organizations and be aware of community COVID issues. We will also discuss the possible fall-out consequences of this pandemic as it applies to the economic, geopolitical agendas. How is it affecting the physical and mental health of our patients? Lastly, we will not be able to answer all the questions pertaining to this ever changing pandemic, so it is important to know what resources are available. Instructor: Virginia Schafer, MD, DC, MBA

Module 3: Optimal Health and Immunity: A Natural Perspective for a Novel Time

With the advent of new research and protocols surrounding the viral pandemic, many practitioners are struggling to understand the etiology and best direction to take with their patients. As the pandemic continues, patients need additional help from clinicians to modify their lifestyle and dietary risk factors and improve their immune defenses. They need support in getting chronic inflammation and autoimmune conditions under control, in moving toward a healthier weight or at least avoiding additional weight gain, improving their diet, and improving their fitness through increased physical activity. These long-term goals are too late for the first wave of the current pandemic, but later waves and new pandemics threaten. By helping your patients understand how to improve their immunity and reduce their risk, you give them the tools to improve their ongoing health.Discussion on how to navigate through this pandemic by sharing leading-edge protocols for improving patient outcomes. Instructor: Robert G. Silverman, DC, DACBN, DCBCN
