Coronavirus Information for your Practice

The Connecticut Chiropractic Association is watching the evolving situation of coronavirus in CT and nationally. We are reviewing all the recommendations and guidelines as they are released, and making an effort to provide CT Chiropractic Physicians with the best information for decision making for their patients and in their offices.

CTChiro assembled information for state government and legislators regarding the role of chiropractic physicians as essential healthcare providers. See Essential Healthcare Providers.

The Governor and Department of Economic and Community Development released a list of essential businesses that includes chiropractic offices under Healthcare. See Business Exemptions for Coronavirus.

CTChiro reminds all Connecticut Chiropractic Physicians of the following recommendations:

  • Follow the Guidelines for Physicians issued by CT Department of Public Health on March 16, 2020:
  • Additional guidelines from CT DPH re: testing, PPE, personnel exposure
  • Your best clinical judgement will protect you, your staff and your patients from unnecessary risk of viral contamination:
    • Non-emergent and non-essential care should be postponed for at least the next 14 days.
    • Extreme caution should be reflected in office procedures for disinfection and social distancing:
      • Regular hand sanitation
      • Sanitize all surfaces following each patient interaction
      • Create required space in waiting rooms, treatment rooms (remove chairs, tables as necessary)
      • Remove magazines, toys, items that might be handled by multiple people
      • Post signs that sick patients should not enter
      • Schedule to allow cleaning between patients and to allow distancing between people
      • See CDC’s Get Your Clinic Ready for COVID-19

Watch this preview of Spring Conference from Dr. Tim Bertelsman

The Connecticut Chiropractic Association is creating a new Scholarship award to honor the memory of Dr. Marino (Bud) Passero by encouraging and supporting our young, upcoming doctors to become leaders in the mold of Dr. Passero.

NCMIC has generously pledged to match all donations up to $5000 made to the new Dr. Marino (Bud) Passero Future Leaders Scholarship. NCMIC’s generosity will be a substantial help in creating a lasting and effective memorial to Dr. Passero.

The  Dr. Marino (Bud) Passero Future Leaders Scholarship will allow the Association to assist doctors who are in the early years of their profession to step beyond their daily professional work into training and roles that expand their lives into leadership activities.

Donations may be made online here or by mail to CTChiro, PO Box 785, Portland, CT 06480,

or by calling 860-257-0404.
