Attention CTChiro Members and Clinic Teams,

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released an updated Advance Beneficiary Notice of Non-coverage (ABN), Form CMS-R-131. This version was approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on March 13, 2026, and is now the official standard for notifying patients when Medicare may not cover a service.

The updated form is valid through March 31, 2029. While it is effective immediately, CMS allows a brief grace period: you may continue to use the previous version of the ABN until May 12, 2026. After this date, any use of the old form will be considered invalid.
